Sustainability at 3F UL GEAR

At 3F UL GEAR, we aim to use sustainable materials and environmentally responsible practices whenever it is realistically possible, while continuing to design reliable ultralight outdoor equipment.

Responsible Packaging

All of our packaging materials are made from 100% recycled materials, including:

  • Product boxes
  • Packaging bags
  • Hang tags
  • Tag strings

We believe packaging should protect the product without creating unnecessary waste.

Materials and Product Design

For backpacks, we actively use partially recycled fabrics whenever performance allows.
In particular, Ultra200X and Ultra100X fabrics contain 50% recycled fibers. The high strength of UHMWPE fibershelps compensate for the reduced strength typically associated with recycled materials.

For tents, we currently do not use recycled fabrics. Ultralight tent materials are already pushed close to their physical limits, and recycled fibers can reduce fabric strength by 10–30%, which is unacceptable for certain products where safety and durability are critical.
We believe that building a tent that lasts many years is itself an environmentally responsible choice, far better than producing gear that becomes disposable.

Environmentally Certified Suppliers

Our fabric suppliers comply with ISO 14001:2015, an international environmental management standard focused on reducing environmental impact during textile production.

PFAS Policy

We make a strong effort to avoid PFAS-containing materials.
Only two products — the Rain Jacket and Rain Pants — use a C6 DWR treatment containing PFAS, as these items require both high waterproofing and high breathability.
All other products are designed without PFAS compounds.

Giving Back to the Outdoors

On a personal level, Mr. Liang XueYan, VP of 3F UL GEAR, receives viewer donations from livestreams on the 3F UL GEAR channel. Although these funds are entirely for personal use, he has chosen to donate them to individuals and organizations that maintain mountain trails, helping keep trails and campsites clean and accessible.

Our Philosophy

Sustainability is not a single material or label.
For us, it means making thoughtful choices, building durable gear, reducing waste where possible, and supporting the outdoor spaces we all depend on.
